Mehldau & Steinfath

The company´s production programme consists of burners and supplying of spare parts for burners.

LOW NOx burners

Field of application:
Burners with low NOx content, with internal flue gas - type NAB (ST) - recirculation. They are the result of continuing development and further improvement of the proven M&S Low NOx burner.
Alternatively either liquid and/or gaseous fuels may be used.
Range of capacity: all heat value ranges
The internal flue gas recirculation of the NAB (ST) burner takes place independently in the area of the furnace without any other secondary installations or additional measures.

Control range: 1:5

Turbine gas burners

Field of application:
The burners of the GT series were specially developed for the purpose of reheating of exhaust gases from gas turbine for subsequent thermal processes.

The GT burner is characterized specially by its stable ratio of NOx and CO even under supplementary firing conditions in the partial load range with the gas turbine in operation.

Alternatively either liquid and/or gaseous fuels may be used.
Range of capacity: all heat value ranges
In cases where under the supplementary firing mode the oxygen concentration of the gas turbine exhaust gases might not suffice for the combustion of the GT burner fuels, the required oxygen concentration can be guaranteed by feeding-in an adequate amount of additional combustion air.

- Pressure loss at the fresh air side: 15 mbar
- Pressure loss at the turbine exhaust gas side: 2,5 mbar
- max. turbine exhaust gas temperature: no limits
- max. turbine exhaust gas flow: no limits
- control range: 1:5

Start – up and supporting burners

Field of application:
The start-up burners were developed for coal burning. The start-up burner comprises a pneumatically retractable atomised oil burner lance that is installed directly in the coal burner.

fuels: all types of liquid fuels
type of ignition: electric or gas/electric
heat output: 2 MW - 50 MW
combustion air pressure loss: 25 mbar

Duct burners

Field of application:
The object of the COMB Ductburner is to reheat turbine waste gases or flue gases for the purpose of operating a downstream process. For this purpose, the ductburner is installed as an auxiliary firing device directly into the gas turbine waste gas duct.
Liquid and/or gaseous fuels may be used as combustibles.
If the turbine waste gases contain a sufficient amount of oxygen, it is feasable to operate exclusively with turbine waste gases.

Advantages of the COMB Ductburner:

• turbine waste gas operation or forced draft air operation possible
• combined turbine waste gas / forced draft air operation possible
• liquid and/or gaseous fuels may be used
• stable temperature profile of +/-30°C after ductburner
• variable mounting possibilities
• low emission values

The COMB Ductburner consists principally of the cylindrical duct, an interior combustion chamber and the combined gas/oil burner.

- range of capacity: 5-200 MW firing capacity
- control range: 10:1
- pressure loss turbine waste gas operation: 2-5 mbar
- pressure loss forced draft air operation: 10 mbar
- turbine waste gas temperatures: up to 600°C
